Pay the Piper

Hell to Pay rewards precise math and timely removal. Cast this sorcery for {X}{R} to deal X damage to target creature and convert any excess damage into value by creating tapped Treasure tokens equal to the amount of damage that overkilled the creature. It functions as conditional removal and a ramp engine in one turn, which fits cleanly into red decks that plan around maximizing a single strike.

In practice this is a card for players who count serviceable lines and plan exits. Use it to finish off an oversized blocker when you have extra mana or to capitalise on a board with damage already marked. The extended art foil here emphasizes the Outlaws of Thunder Junction aesthetic while remaining a straightforward tool for control, midrange, and combo shells that welcome Treasure as fuel.
