Altar of the Wretched
Altar of the Wretched is a compact artifact that converts sacrifice into card advantage and graveyard recursion. When it enters the battlefield you can sacrifice a nontoken creature to set X equal to that creature s power, then draw X cards and mill X cards. The effect rewards trading a big creature for immediate card selection and graveyard setup; it plays cleanly in decks that value both card filtering and fueling a graveyard plan.
The card also supports a craft investment and a cheap return clause. Craft lets you invest creatures to boost its power and leave a board presence that scales with the creatures you submit. For longer games the return ability lets you recur the Altar from your graveyard for a small black cost. This card is a practical choice for grindy commander lists, sacrifice synergies and decks that want controlled self mill without abandoning card quality.
