Altar of the Wretched — Reclaim and Repurpose
Altar of the Wretched is a compact utility artifact that turns a sacrificial tempo play into card advantage and graveyard fuel. When it enters the battlefield you may sacrifice a nontoken creature. If you do, you draw X cards and then mill X cards where X equals the sacrificed creature s power. That sequence rewards investing into creatures with high power while leaving your deck and graveyard stocked for recursion and synergy.
The card also supports the set s craft theme. It can be crafted with one or more creatures for a mid game investment and you can pay {2}{B} to return it from your graveyard to your hand. This makes it a repeatable engine in decks that want to trade creatures for card selection and mill based interactions.
