Visage of Dread — Hand Reading Artifact
Visage of Dread is a compact tool for disruption. As an artifact for {1}{B} it forces a target opponent to reveal their hand, letting you pick an artifact or creature card for them to discard. The effect is direct and efficient which makes Visage of Dread a useful inclusion in decks that prize hand information and selective removal. In a control shell the card doubles as early pressure and a way to shape opponent lines; in a midrange list it turns into reliable card advantage against greedy opens.
The card also carries a craft option that lets it return as a 5/4 under your control when you pay five and a black and exile it along with two creature sources from your battlefield or graveyard. That secondary route changes the card from a disruption piece into a board presence late in the game. For players of Lost Caverns of Ixalan this is a tidy design that rewards planning and graveyard synergies without overstating its role.
