Visage of Dread is a compact piece of black utility that forces information and makes it stick. When Visage of Dread enters the battlefield you force a target opponent to reveal their hand and then pick an artifact or creature card for them to discard. In practical terms the card buys you tempo by removing a key play or threat before it resolves while giving you knowledge to shape your next turns.

Beyond the immediate discard effect the card can become a board presence through its craft ability if you can pay five and a black while exiling itself and two creatures from among those you control or creature cards in your graveyard. Returned transformed it becomes a 5/4 under your control. That conversion is useful in grindy games where attrition matters. Visage of Dread fits into black lists that value disruption and late game resiliency without demanding a complex setup.
