Sand Scout offers practical utility for decks that prize resource parity and Desert synergies. When Sand Scout enters the battlefield it can fetch a Desert tapped if an opponent has more lands than you, which helps stabilize mana while advancing a land based plan. Its steady 2 2 body interacts well with combat and token engines, and the triggered token ability rewards burial of lands from any source.

In table play Sand Scout fills two roles at once.
