Claws on the Line

Contest of Claws is a compact removal and value engine in one. For a single green and one colorless it lets a creature you control trade damage equal to its power with a target creature. When your attacker overkills the blocker you convert the excess into card advantage via discover. Play this in a deck that can reliably grow a single threat so the excess damage yields consistent dig and occasional free casts.

This particular copy is a foil from Commander The Lost Caverns of Ixalan in poor condition. The foil surface shows noticeable wear and the edges have visible shelf damage. Functionally it plays the same but it is best suited for casual play or as a sleeve first collectible for a budget minded deck builder who values the unique discover payoff and the set flavor.
