Embers on the Vines
Cindervines is a concise tool for punishing spell-heavy opponents and answering troublesome artifacts or enchantments. Casting Cindervines for {1}{R}{G} sets a passive tax on noncreature spells by dealing one point of damage to whoever casts them. That steady attrition pressures control decks and combo pilots while leaving your creatures untouched.
The sacrifice mode doubles as targeted removal and a follow up source of damage. Pay {1} and sacrifice Cindervines to destroy an opposing artifact or enchantment and deal two damage to that permanent's controller. In a Ravnica game plan Cindervines reads as efficient disruption and incidental burn, useful in midrange builds or sideboards against enchantment or artifact dependent strategies.
