The Mycotyrant from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan is a compact engine that rewards a board built around Fungi and Saprolings. The Mycotyrant's power and toughness scale directly with how many of those creature types you control, so a modest early board can become an imposing attacker by mid game. It has trample which lets the size matter in combat and lets damage spill through when blockers are insufficient.

It also produces incremental value at the end of your turns by creating 1 1 black Fungus tokens that cannot block. The token trigger ties to how often you descended this turn, a nod to the set's graveyard themes and the subterranean hazards of Ixalan's caverns. Use sacrifice effects and token synergies to turn steady growth into a fast clock while keeping pressure on opposing life totals and board presence.
