Strix Serenade: Counter and Create

Strix Serenade is a blue instant from Modern Horizons 3 designed to disrupt key plays while leaving behind a relevant board presence. Counter target artifact, creature, or planeswalker spell. Its controller creates a 2/2 blue Bird creature token with flying, giving you a blocking option or a quick push to pressure planeswalkers. The combination of removal and a follow up threat fits blue tempo and control shells that prize efficiency and information over raw power.

The card rewards precise timing and careful mana management, letting you swing tempo in your favor when you need it most. In practice you hold up mana to clear a critical threat and still develop your position with the token. Flavor text nods to the card’s focus on observation and response: Some birds sing to nature's beauty and the freedom of the skies. Others simply ask questions.
