Starving Revenant — Gravebound Harvester
Starving Revenant is a midsized engine for black graveyard strategies. The card lets you surveil 2 as it enters the battlefield which cleans up the top of your library and sets up immediate draws. After you reorder those cards you draw for each card you put back and pay three life per draw, so the Revenant turns card selection into raw card advantage at the cost of life. It fits well into decks that convert life into value and want predictable topdecks for upcoming turns.
The card also brings a persistent late game when Descend 8 becomes active. Once your graveyard contains eight or more permanent cards every draw triggers a small tax on an opponent and a one point life swing in your favor. Use the Revenant with recursive permanents and efficient discard outlets to reach descend quickly. Starving Revenant combines steady card flow with incremental life drain and rewards graveyard planning more than flashy plays.
