Cast with a cost of {X}{G}{G}{G}, it reads as printed on the card and lets you reveal the top X cards of your library and put any number of permanents with mana value X or less onto the battlefield. The card rewards careful sequencing and a library built to maximize permanents and value when you choose a large X.

In play, Genesis Wave is best treated as a toolkit and a risk. It can end games when your deck is dense with creatures, artifacts, or enchantments. It also puts unselected cards into your graveyard which can be an advantage for decks that leverage graveyard interaction.
