Contested Game Ball
Contested Game Ball is an Artifact that forces a tricky table decision when combat goes wrong for you. The card reads: Whenever you are dealt combat damage, the attacking player gains control of Contested Game Ball and untaps it. That clause turns an ordinary combat hit into a tempo swing for your opponent, so consider how and when you leave yourself open. The repeatable draw ability helps recoup value but hands control to whoever lands the decisive blow.
With an activation that costs {2} and tapping it to draw a card and add a point counter the Ball rewards patience. If it reaches five or more point counters you sacrifice it and create a Treasure token. Use the Ball in decks that can tolerate short term loss of artifacts or that can pressure opponents into avoiding attacks. Against aggressive decks the Ball can be a bluff and a resource at once.
