Claim Jumper — Quick Draw Mercenary
Claim Jumper is a practical addition to white midrange and aggressive decks that need a resilient early threat and a simple ramp trigger. The card presents a 3/3 body for {2}{W} with vigilance, allowing it to attack and hold the line. Its enter the battlefield clause reads like a built in catch up mechanic; if opponents outpace you on lands you can tutor Plains onto the battlefield tapped, and the clause can trigger twice when you are sufficiently behind.
Its utility is straightforward. Play it on curve to stabilize combat or drop it later to shore up mana while maintaining pressure. In limited play Claim Jumper speeds up color fixing and closes gaps against greedy mana bases. In constructed shells it pairs well with fetchlands and effects that care about entering with creatures, since the creature arrives ready to defend and can also smooth your mana without costing another spell.
