Break Out — Turn Top Cards into a Surprise Assault
Break Out from Murders at Karlov Manor gives a compact midgame wrinkle for decks that value tempo and selective gas. You look at the top six cards of your library and may reveal a creature among them. If that creature has mana value 2 or less you can drop it straight onto the battlefield and it gains haste until end of turn. If you do not put the revealed card onto the battlefield this way you still get it in your hand so you do not lose card advantage.
Practically minded pilots will see Break Out as a tool for closing windows and rescuing tempo when a board swing is required. It plays well in aggressive or go wide builds that want surprise attackers and in midrange shells that can leverage low cost creatures for value and immediate impact. The card fits the set flavor by turning a begrudging retreat into an opportunistic strike and it reads cleanly at tabletop speed.
