Xavier Sal, Infested Captain is a compact assembly of token generation and counter manipulation that fits naturally into commander shells built around synergy and attrition. With a three three body and two abilities that require tapping and sorcery timing the card asks for deliberate sequencing. The first ability turns existing counters into additional bodies which can replace lost board presence or inflate go wide plans while leaving you room to shape the battlefield with recurring value.

The second ability converts sacrificial engines into incremental advantage. Sacrifice a creature then proliferate to push those planeswalker, poison and energy tallies or to grow any counters you care about. Use him behind protective mana and untap effects or in decks that already theme around counters and token copies. The card plays well as a commander or as a centerpiece in a supporting role where timing and counter economy matter more than raw power.
