The Creation of Avacyn
The Creation of Avacyn is a white Saga enchantment from Modern Horizons 3 presented in near mint foil. In typical Innistrad fashion, it weaves a small three chapter arc that unfolds across the battlefield. On entry and after your draw step, it adds a lore counter, then begins the process of revealing a card from your library. The card’s core trick is to exile a chosen card face down and keep it ready for a later moment. The effect is steady rather than flashy, rewarding careful planning and timing within a game plan that values tempo and incremental value.
Over the course of the chapters you gain options and potential payoff. Chapter I lets you search your library for a card and exile it face down, then shuffle. Chapter II turns that exiled card face up and, if it’s a creature, life loss is calculated by its mana value. Chapter III gives you the choice to put the exiled card onto the battlefield if it is a creature, or, if you opt not to, draw it back to your opponent’s hand. Visually, the foil finish catches light with a muted shimmer, emphasizing the card’s elegant restraint and its place in a commander’s toolbox or a midrange white strategy.
