Enter the Animus
The Animus brings Assassin lore into Magic play with a compact, utility focused artifact that rewards planning. For a cost of {2} you get a repeatable engine: at the end of your turn you can exile a legendary creature card from any graveyard and place a memory counter on it. That interaction sets up future turns by stocking exile with legendary options and giving you a bank of targets for the Animus ability.
Tap to copy is where the card earns its keep. Tap the Animus and, until your next turn, a legendary creature you control becomes a copy of a creature card in exile that has a memory counter. The effect is sorcery speed which keeps it balanced while still enabling toolbox plays, tag team combos and deception in commander or casual cube.
