Tendril of the Mycotyrant is a compact one drop that grows into a late game engine. As a 2 2 Fungus Wizard for {1}{G} it fills a standard aggressive or midrange curve and offers a repeatable land conversion effect that rewards board development. The card works best when you already control utility lands you can afford to turn into creatures and still use for mana or triggers.
The activated ability lets you invest a large mana payment to put seven +1 +1 counters on a noncreature land you control and give it haste while it becomes a 0 0 Fungus creature. That transformation keeps the land type which matters for fetches and land synergies while creating a sizable threat quickly. Use this with lands that produce multiple mana or with effects that care about creatures entering the battlefield to extract value from the Lost Caverns environment.
