Sunken Citadel Awaits
Sunken Citadel is a practical land for decks that want flexible colored mana at predictable points in the game. The card enters the battlefield tapped and asks you to choose a color as it arrives. After that choice you can tap it for one mana of the chosen color when you need consistency or tap it for two mana of that color when you need to power a land ability. The Cave subtype gives a small thematic nudge for cavern themed builds without changing how the card resolves.
From a gameplay perspective the Citadel is best in decks that use activated land abilities or that want a reliable two mana burst to fuel specific plays. It is less about raw acceleration and more about timing and resource planning. In Lost Caverns of Ixalan lore the structure sits half submerged and still channels the old primal magics, so choosing the right color at the right time matters both mechanically and thematically.
