Steer Clear is a compact instant removal that reads like a battle plan. Cast for {1}{W}, it deals 2 damage to an attacking or blocking creature and upgrades to 4 damage if you controlled a Mount when you cast it. That conditional boost makes it tidy removal against larger combat threats when your board has a Mount to back it up. Use it on the stack after blockers are declared to cleanly alter combat math or to finish off a battered attacker.
