Spymaster's Vault is a rare land from Modern Horizons 3 built to reward careful tempo. It enters the battlefield tapped unless you control a Swamp, tying its availability to your mana base. Tap to add a single black mana, a reliable resource for disruption, blockers, or removal in a black heavy plan. Its true strength shows when you blend its connive ability with your own threats: target a creature you control, it connives X where X is the number of creatures that died this turn, and you draw X cards and discard X cards, then place a +1/+1 counter on that creature for each nonland card discarded this way.
That engine scales with the rest of your graveyard and deck setup, letting you refuel while growing a single threat.
