Sovereign Okinec Ahau is a tight, efficient commander for green white aggro and token builds. Sovereign Okinec Ahau rewards attacking by growing your attacking cats and other creatures that already outpower their printed stats. Ward 2 gives it a reliable shield against targeted removal so the board state can develop and your creatures can snowball during the combat step.

In practice Sovereign Okinec Ahau turns relative power advantages into permanent board presence. When it attacks you will distribute +1/+1 counters to each creature whose current power exceeds its base power equal to the difference. That interaction plays well with anthem effects, equipment and temporary boosts and converts them into long term value. Use it with lord effects or small pump spells to maximize the counters placed on each creature.
