Simic Tactician
Simic Guildmage is a compact utility piece for decks that expect to trade tempo for long term advantage. At {G}{U} the 2 2 body is modest but the two activated abilities are where the card earns its place. The {1}{G} mode repositions a +1/+1 counter to shift combat math or grow a key threat. The {1}{U} mode repurposes an Aura to preserve enchantment value and keep buffs where they matter. Both costs are cheap enough to use repeatedly given a little mana and a steady board state.
In Ravnica play the Guildmage reads as a toolkit rather than a threat. It pairs with proliferate, counters synergies, and any aura heavy package that needs reliable maintenance. Experienced players will use it to pivot midcombat or to salvage a targeted Aura that would otherwise become dead weight. The card performs best in lists that can protect a small creature and capitalize on incremental advantage over several turns.
