Sage of Fables — Quiet Architect of Counters
Sage of Fables is a compact engine for any blue wizard shell. For two and a blue you get a 2 2 body that silently makes every other Wizard you deploy come into play with an extra +1/+1 counter. That means creatures that normally arrive as fragile tempo pieces instead hit the board with a meaningful upgrade, and it converts token generators and cascade hits into threats that stick around longer.
Beyond passive growth the Sage gives card advantage with a simple economy. Pay two and remove a +1/+1 counter from one of your creatures to draw. The exchange encourages careful sequencing and counter management. In Commander this card plays well in archetypes that expect incremental value over time and in builds that care about proliferate or counter synergies. The art and name fit the Lost Caverns setting where old narratives reshape recruits into something sturdier, and the design rewards players who plan their plays several steps ahead.
