Restless Reef: Tidal Engine
Restless Reef is a pragmatic addition to any blue black shell that needs resilient mana and a late game threat. Restless Reef enters the battlefield tapped, provides either {U} or {B} with a tap, and can be pushed for {2}{U}{B} to become a 4/4 blue and black Shark creature with deathtouch until end of turn while remaining a land. That flexibility means it functions as reliable mana early and an interactive blocker or attacker when you have the resources to risk the activation.
There is a small lore note in its combat trigger. Whenever Restless Reef attacks it mills four cards from the defending player. That mill clause fits Lost Caverns of Ixalan themes and gives you pressure against control or graveyard heavy strategies. Use it as a tempo play or as a collapse into deathtouch removal on the ground. Experienced pilots will sequence taps and attacks to get value and deny opponent resources while keeping the mana base intact.
