Out Cold is a compact answer that fits into control and tempo shells from Murders at Karlov Manor. For a single blue and three colorless mana you get an uncounterable instant that taps up to two creatures and places a stun counter on each. The card slows attacks and removes immediate threats without committing a blocker. It also triggers Investigate so you get an incremental advantage while you stall the board.
Play it main phase or in response to a risky attack. The stun counter reads as persistent disruption; if a permanent would untap while it has a stun counter one counter is removed instead. That interaction makes Out Cold useful in matchups where you expect repeated attacks or sacrifice effects. Experienced players will notice it dodges ward style effects that try to tax spells that target.
