The 6 5 body and trample make it a credible attacker, and its combat damage trigger converts that aggression into immediate board development by revealing cards from the top of your library equal to damage dealt. You can put a creature and or a land from among those cards straight onto the battlefield which often turns a single successful strike into multiple permanent threats.

The card also insists on longevity. When Ojer Kaslem dies it returns to the battlefield tapped and transformed under your control so removal does not permanently clear your board presence.
