Lazav, the Multifarious is a compact commander that rewards careful graveyard management and patient timing. When Lazav enters the battlefield you surveil one to sculpt the top of your library. From there you can invest mana to become whatever graveyard threat you need while keeping Lazav as your commander identity. The interaction scales from utility creatures to game defining threats depending on how you seed your graveyard.

Play Lazav with a deck built to control the flow of the graveyard and generate reusable targets. The activated ability copies any creature card in your graveyard for a chosen mana value allowing creative plays that dodge name based removal and retain Lazav as a legendary presence.
