When Kaslem's Stonetree enters the battlefield you get to look at the top six cards of your library and may put a land card from among them onto the battlefield tapped. That small but reliable selection effect accelerates your curve and preserves card advantage by trimming the top of your deck without spending extra turns digging.

The card also offers a late game angle through Craft with Cave 5{G}. Exiling the artifact plus a Cave you control or a Cave card from your graveyard returns Kaslem's Stonetree transformed as a 5/5 under your control. In practice you keep the card as a flexible mana fixer early and a threat later. Kaslem's Stonetree plays well in land focused shells that want predictable development and a clear upgrade path into a board presence.
