Field Guide for Dino Hunters
Intrepid Paleontologist is a compact engine for ramp and graveyard interaction that rewards a patient playstyle. At a single green and one generic mana you get a 2 2 Human Druid that can tap for any color of mana and pay two to exile graveyard targets. Those simple abilities smooth mana and build an exiled toolbox you can actually cast from during the game.
The card really pulls its weight in decks that want Dinosaur threats. You may cast Dinosaur creature spells from among cards you own exiled with Intrepid Paleontologist. If you cast a spell this way, that creature enters the battlefield with a finality counter on it. The counter changes the math on removal and recurring value, so plan your sequencing and preserve the Paleontologist to keep digging for answers. This Light Play foil from The Lost Caverns of Ixalan makes for a tidy addition to a Dinosaur shell or any graveyard based green deck.
