Headsplitter: Quick Blade for Fast Boards
Headsplitter is the kind of compact equipment that changes how a red deck finishes a game. When Headsplitter enters the battlefield it immediately leaves a footprint by creating a 1/1 black Assassin creature token with menace and then equipping itself to that token. That sequence gives you an evasive attacker on turn two while also putting a persistent power boost on any creature you later choose to arm. This makes Headsplitter efficient in aggro shells and useful as a one card tempo play when you need to commit to the board.
From a deckbuilding perspective Headsplitter pairs well with sacrifice outlets and combat tricks that capitalize on menace and incremental power. The equipped creature gets plus one plus zero and you can pay the Equip cost to move the axe to a more relevant attacker as the game evolves. The card reads cleanly and plays predictably which helps with sequencing and combat math. Add Headsplitter to decks that want a low cost stick that both creates a blocker and scales into later turns. Pick one up and put it to work in your next draft or commander list.
