Greedy Freebooter: Quick Loot

Greedy Freebooter is a concise tool for incremental advantage in a Black aggro or value shell. As a 1 by 1 Human Pirate that costs a single black mana, the card trades efficiency for a triggered economy effect. When Greedy Freebooter dies you scry one and create a Treasure token which translates a small tempo loss into card quality and flexible mana later on. That interaction makes the creature useful both as an early threat and as fodder for sacrifice synergies.
In Lost Caverns of Ixalan decks the Freebooter slots into lists that want cheap bodies that upgrade on death. Use it to fuel delirium, sacrifice outlets, or to smooth draws into later turns. The printed wording gives you a clear in game sequence so there is no ambiguity at the table. From a gameplay perspective you get a tidy exchange of resilience for optional resource generation.
