Ephara's Dispersal gives you a compact answer that rewards timing. As an instant you can hold priority and pick off an attacking threat or interrupt a combat trick. The alternative cost that reduces this spell by two colorless mana when it targets an attacking creature makes it easier to protect your board or reset a problematic attacker without overcommitting resources.

The spell returns a creature to its owner s hand and then grants Surveil 2 which sets up your next draw or fills the graveyard for synergy with delve and flashback. In Commander lists built around card selection and graveyard interaction this is efficient removal that also digs for answers. Play it from hand or a top deck and use the Surveil to sculpt your next turns while keeping tempo under control.
