Dowsing Device is a compact utility artifact that slots into aggressive and artifact synergies. With a casting cost of {1}{R} the Device rewards you for assembling permanents. Whenever Dowsing Device or another artifact arrives under your control you may grant a creature you control a modest boost of +1/+0 and haste until end of turn. That tempo bump is useful on the turn you go wide or when you need one more attacker through.

The card then flips the board late game once you reach four artifacts, transforming into something that further pressures opponents. In Lost Caverns of Ixalan that flip condition fits decks that churn tokens and equipment. Experienced players will value the Device for its low cost and repeatable value in artifact based shells and red creature decks alike.
