Mindbend the Hand
Distended Mindbender comes in as a heavy hitter from Innistrad Remastered with a simple agenda: trade a creature to warp your opponent's options. The printed cast cost is eight but Emerge lets you cheat it out by sacrificing a creature and paying a reduced emerge cost of {5}{B}{B}. Play it when you can afford the sacrificial tempo and you get a 5/5 Eldrazi Insect that immediately pressures an opponent's resources.
On resolution the Distended Mindbender forces a targeted opponent to reveal their hand and lets you select a low cost threat and a higher cost answer for discard. That paired disruption is effective in midrange and sacrifice shells where handing an opponent a split loss can decide tempo and clearance lines. Use it as a finisher after your board development or as a deterrent when you need to clear a specific reply from their hand.
