Cataclysmic Prospecting is a compact board wipe that scales with your investment. Cast it for two red and a variable cost and it will deal X damage to every creature on the battlefield. It reads plainly and works predictably which makes it a reliable tool in red decks that need a reset without overcommitting to permanent removal.
The extra twist ties into a Desert theme. For every mana from a Desert you used to cast the spell you receive a tapped Treasure token. That interaction rewards careful mana sequencing and land choices in Commander. Use it to clear a clogged board and recoup some value; the card plays well in aggressive midrange shells and landfall or Treasure synergies and sits naturally in the Outlaws of Thunder Junction identity.
