Boarded Window: Hold the Line
Boarded Window is a compact artifact that buys you breathing room. As an experienced player you will recognize its value in low to mid tempo decks; for three colorless mana this card imposes a static penalty on creatures attacking you, helping stall damage while you find answers or stabilize the board. The printed effect reads exactly as on the Innistrad Remastered release and pairs neatly with lifegain, fog effects, or creatures that punish attackers.
The second clause forces a trade off that fits the set tone. If you take substantial damage during a turn Boarded Window removes itself at the next end step, so it functions best as a stopgap rather than a permanent wall. Keep it in decks that need predictable defense and a consistent way to blunt incoming aggression. Add one to a sideboard plan against red aggro or include it as an early play in control shells; it rewards smart sequencing and timing.
