Bloodghast Returns
Bloodghast is a compact recursion engine that rewards a land heavy plan. It arrives as a 2 1 body for two black mana and does not add defensive value because it cannot block. Play it on curve and treat it as a repeatable attacker once you have ways to trigger landfall. Against opponents with low life totals it turns into an emergency finisher because it gains haste when any opponent has ten or less life.
The real utility is persistent board presence. Each time you put a land onto the battlefield you may return Bloodghast from your graveyard, letting it pressure life totals or enable sacrifice and menace synergies. It is straightforward to sequence with fetch lands and land drops, and it pairs well with discard outlets that send it to the graveyard and with effects that cheat lands into play. Practical, efficient, and reliable for graveyard focused black decks in Commander contexts.
