Behind the Mask — Steal the Evidence
Behind the Mask is a tight blue instant for when you need to reshape the battlefield or disrupt a key piece of your opponent's plan. Castable for a single blue mana, it gives you the option to collect evidence by exiling cards from your graveyard whose total mana value is six or greater. The trade off is clear and tactical. Spend a small investment in your graveyard to change how a target artifact or creature behaves for the turn.
The effect is straightforward to sequence and useful in many archetypes in Murders at Karlov Manor. Target anything worth neutralizing then decide whether to collect evidence first. Without evidence the target becomes an artifact creature with base power and toughness four three until end of turn. If you did collect evidence the target instead becomes an artifact creature with base power and toughness one one until end of turn. The Light Play Foil finish makes this one easy to sleeve into a deck that values card feel and presentation without altering gameplay.
