Barbed Servitor Warden of Karlov Manor
The Barbed Servitor is a compact removal engine for players who favor incremental advantage. This Artifact Creature Construct arrives with indestructible and a suspect trigger that gives it menace while it enters the battlefield. On offense it converts combat damage into card advantage by drawing you a card and costing you one life which pairs well with lifegain synergies or sacrifice outlets. On defense it punishes removal by draining an opponent equal to damage dealt to it which creates repeated value in attrition matches.
From a deck building perspective the Servitor wants graveyard interaction and ways to push through damage. It is a one power one toughness body with a four mana casting cost that rewards repeated combat and targeted damage. The foil near mint presentation from Murders at Karlov Manor is a nice inclusion for collectors and players seeking a playable rare that fits black artifact themes and political formats where its suspect mechanic influences blockers and combat math.
