Archmage's Newt — Flashback Conduit
Archmage's Newt brings practical utility to any blue deck that wants repeatable spell recursion tied to combat. The salamander mount rewards pushing through damage by turning a spent instant or sorcery in your graveyard into a flashback play for the turn. Use it to recover removal after an attack or to chain a bonus draw while still advancing the board state.
The printed Saddle ability adds a small deck building wrinkle that fits Outlaws of Thunder Junction. Saddle three buys a specific mode where the flashback cost can drop to zero, letting you cast an otherwise costly spell for free if you plan ahead. This card reads cleanly in maindeck and sideboard roles and scales with graveyard centric strategies and aggressive tempo plans.
