Anim Pakal, Thousandth Moon is a compact commander in pace and intent. Anim Pakal rewards aggression by growing each time you attack with non Gnome creatures and then converting that growth into bodies on the battlefield. The card reads cleanly and plays well in decks that push through early pressure while scaling into a token engine that taxes opposing blockers.
The printed ability makes combat a resource engine. You put a plus one plus one counter on Anim Pakal when you attack with one or more non Gnome creatures, then create X tapped attacking 1 by 1 colorless Gnome artifact creature tokens where X equals the number of plus one plus one counters on Anim Pakal. That leads to steady incremental advantage and forces opponents to answer both a growing legendary creature and an expanding token swarm.
