Amzu, Swarm's Hunger is a compact commander for decks that tax the graveyard and swarm the battlefield. This legendary Insect Shaman brings flying and menace to the table while turning graveyard interactions into board presence. Amzu buffs your insect army by granting menace to other Insects you control so that evasive attackers suddenly force awkward blocks and favorable trades.
Every time one or more cards leave your graveyard Amzu converts that motion into a 1/1 black and green Insect token and immediately invests it with +1/+1 counters equal to the largest mana value among those cards. That makes reanimation plays discard synergies and self mill into a steady source of growing bodies. Practical and direct, Amzu fits into sacrifice, flicker, and graveyard recursion shells in Ravnica-themed builds where politics and incremental advantage matter.
