The replacement effect is straightforward and reliable. Whenever a token effect would create one or more tokens for you the result is doubled which scales cleanly with anthem effects and token generators across blue and green.
In play they want an engine. Use sacrifice outlets or token producers that create multiple tokens to maximize value. Their 2 2 body is serviceable early and their Merfolk Wizard type can matter in tribal builds or with support that cares about creature type. From a lore perspective they act like cooperative spellcasters whose mirrored magics favor replication over destruction which fits the mood of Karlov Manor without getting dramatic.
